Pictures of Chili

I took Chili to hang out with the goats today, and they all crowded around him, completely disregarding any idea of personal space. I tried to take a few pictures, but the goats photobombed most of them, so I took Chili to our yard and set him on a bench, scratching his chest until he settled down for some pictures.

Personalities:

Outings:

The puppies have gone on several car trips, and have been running around outside during the day for about a week now. They have been on several outings including the mechanic, the hardware store, as well as friends' houses to meet their dogs. I have cats and large dogs which interact with them as well. We're currently working on getting all of them used to the idea of stairs.

Personalities as a group:

Rosemary is the calmest and cuddliest of the litter. Parsley and Chili are medium energy, and prone to bouts of irresistible cuteness. Thyme and Sage are the highest energy, are usually the first to run to me in greeting, and the most likely to be found attacking the crinkle-llama when they play in the living room. (Although as I am writing this quiet little Rosemary is busily attacking the llama.) All of these puppies are in the medium energy range when compared to Aussies as a whole, but for a home with children I might suggest looking at Parsley and Chili rather than Thyme.

Chili: This little guy has a little bit less energy than his brother Thyme. He was the first to notice things outside of the puppy bed. He was a little suspicious of the critters and activity he could see beyond his safe little bed at first, but very quickly decided that everything was friendly and fun. He is a medium energy puppy who plays but also cuddles.

Parsley: A watchful little dude who is ready as soon as he senses that something fun is in the works. He always joins the group enthusiastically. He plays, but is fairly gentle. He is medium energy like his brother Chili.

Thyme: He is almost as energetic as his sister Sage, and is one of the first puppies to run to me when he sees me coming. He will want a lot of toys and things to do. He is gentle when he plays even though he is high energy, and likes to cuddle between bouts of play.

Rosemary: This sweet thing is the opposite of her sister Sage, and while she loves attention and cuddling, she tends to stay back from the rest of the puppies when they are jumping around my feet getting attention because she doesn't want to join in with their rough play. She is much calmer, and loves to sit in someone's lap and watch the world while she is gently petted. She will play with her siblings for short periods, and then leave to confidently and calmly explore her surroundings.

Sage: She is energy and spunk bundled together in an enthusiastic little package. I've started teaching her to not play tug-of-war with my pants, which is going well because she is very eager to please and loves attention and praise. She is easily redirected to her chewies, or in some cases to cuddles. She is the most energetic of the litter, but still likes to cuddle.
